Shred-a-Thon

Bring your important documents and papers to shred.  Please do not bring magazines or newspapers, etc. that can be thrown away in your recycling bin.  These items take up a lot of space and could result in someone not getting their important documents shredded due to the truck being full.  We will be in the Trilogy Parking Lot near the main entrance into the Clubhouse and the east side Ballroom doors. 
 
ONLY PAPER PRODUCTS are allowed.  Each resident is allowed 2 Medium sized Boxes/Bins/Trash Bag at no charge that are the size of 18” x 14” x 12”.   Anything over 2 Boxes/Bins/Trash Bags, there will be a $5 charge for each additional one. CASH ONLY accepted for the additional items. Follow the signs when you get to the parking lot.  We will be accepting boxes between 8 am – 10 am or whenever truck is full.

Dr. Van Leavitt
 
Dr. Van S. Leavitt is a native of Arizona. He attended k-12 in the Gilbert public school system and later went on to ASU where he received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish literature and linguistics. He is fluent in Spanish and has gone on several medical mission trips to Mexico where he has been able to treat underserved populations. He attended Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ for his medical school training. Upon completion of his medical degree he was accepted into a general surgery residency program at Beaumont Health in Detroit, Michigan through Michigan State University. Dr. Leavitt trained heavily in laparoscopic surgery, trauma surgery, colorectal surgery, hernia surgery, anti-reflux surgery, breast surgery, wound care, and endoscopy including EGD and colonoscopy. He is board certified to treat a wide range of medical conditions including but not limited to disorders of the gallbladder, stomach, intestines, and colon. After successfully completing his 5-year residency he was accepted at Banner Gateway Weight Loss Center in Gilbert, AZ as a bariatric fellow for 13 months where he was dedicated to learning more about obesity and its surgical treatment. He has participated in several additional courses for revisional bariatric surgery, Orbera intragastric balloon placement, and management of post operative bariatric complications. Dr. Leavitt is board certified in General Surgery and currently a member of several surgical societies including: ASMBS (American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons), SAGES (Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons), ACOS (American College of Osteopathic Surgeons) and AOA (American Osteopathic Association). His primary hospital affiliations are with Mountain Vista Medical Center, Banner Gateway Medical Center, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, Chandler Regional Medical Center, and Arizona Orthopedic and Spine Hospital.

These technology classes are for:
·       Those who are so embarrassed by how little hey know that they wont discuss anything related to technology with friends.
·       Who think they might break computers for fear they don’t know everything about them.
·       Or…those who break out in a cold sweat when they need to buy tickets on PurplePass.
 
The benefits of taking even small steps to become digitally literate bring huge benefits, while the avoidance of digital literacy brings huge disadvantages!  Take a chance…you might be surprised at how much better you learn!  
 
This will be an ongoing monthly class with various topics.

Come join Dr. Bisla a Cardiac Electrophysiologist with Dignity Health will be presenting on Heart Disease and Atrial Fibrillation.
 
 
Dr. Jaskanwal "Sonny" Bisla is a cardiac electrophysiologist with Arizona Cardiac Electrophysiology PLLC, Dignity Health Heart Arrhythmia Center, associated with Chandler Regional Medical Center and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. He is board certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Disease, and Internal Medicine. Dr. Bisla completed his Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at Stanford University. He completed his Cardiovascular Disease fellowship and his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Arizona Medical Center. Prior to his cardiology fellowship, he served as a chief resident and clinical instructor from 2013-2014 at the University of Arizona. He completed his undergraduate education and earned his Doctorate of Medicine Degree from the University of Arizona where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and graduated magna cum laude. He has authored and/or co-authored a number of studies published in peer-reviewed journals and continues active membership in American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society
